How to use and care for your umbrella

We usually use umbrellas casually, but each umbrella is actually made up of 40 to 50 parts. This number of parts is unusually large even for a fashion item. That's why umbrellas, which are often taken for granted as being durable, are also extremely delicate. Of course, manufacturers also conduct thorough research to improve ease of use and durability, and reflect this in their products. However, in order to make it last longer, it is important to treat it with care.

Precautions when opening

If you use too much force to open the umbrella, the fabric may get tangled, causing bones to break or putting strain on the entire umbrella. When opening the umbrella, loosen it thoroughly and make sure the fabric and bones are not tangled.

Precautions while using

Are you rotating the umbrella while using it? When you turn an umbrella, centrifugal force is applied to the handle and potter's wheel, which puts a lot of strain on it.

Are you swinging it around or using it as a cane? The umbrella has sharp edges, so please check the safety of your surroundings when using it. Using an umbrella as a walking stick may cause malfunction.

Do you hold an umbrella with your hand covered in hand cream or sunscreen? Do not hold the umbrella with cream-covered hands, as this may cause the color of the fabric and handle to fade.

Are you draining the water too hard after using it? This is a common sight, but it actually puts a lot of strain on the umbrella. Drain gently.

When folding your umbrella, do you tighten or rub the fabric? Please fold it gently as the surface finish of the fabric will come off.

Have you left your umbrella in the car? Bones may rust or become bent due to heat.

Have you left your umbrella wet? Moisture is an umbrella's enemy. Be sure to dry it in the shade after use, as the bones may rust or the fabric may be damaged.
